Hi Everyone!
I'm Kate, and I am so happy that I stumbled across this forum. I am moving to the UK in 6 weeks (EEEP!) and have found information on so many things that I wouldn't have even considered. Not sure where I will end up once I stop spinning, but to start with I will be south of London staying with a cousin in Horsham. I am so excited to be exploring my heritage (English father so heaps of cousins etc. over there) and I have been dreaming of Scotland for as long as I can remember. Looking forward to meeting some of you and hopefully catching some hockey (GO FLAMES!). Thanks for all of the insight and the wealth of advice and knowledge on this site.
Kate

Hello i came across this website by chance when i was looking for information. And could realy use any help anyone can give.Currently i am living with my husband in Quebec.I am from Ohio,in the states. We came up together last May,and were married in September. We recently got the paper work for Permanent Residence from within Canada.Which we only found out recently were needed.Since there are no problems of course with filling these out and sending them in.The problem is i have begun my 4th month of pregnancy and have not been able to see a doctor. We have been told that wont be a possibility untill after the paperwork has been oked.Which would not be a prolbem if i was not already pregnant. Is there anyway it is possible that i could see a doctor while the paperwork is being processed? If so what are the steps to be taken?I do understand if i leave while the paper work is being processed it could be tossed out and I would in turn not be allowed to return.I would only leave to recieve prenatal care if i am not able to get it up here.I would perfer to remain with my husband if at all possible. Please if anyone is here that has maybe had experance with this or give any help or advice it would be appreciated.Thank you.

Hello everyone,

My name is James and currently working in Vancouver B.C. Canada, I was working in Ensenada Baja California about two years ago and loved it. Trouble is job ended and needed work, so I went back to Vancouver. Anyone have ideas on where or who a guy could talk to about possible employment? I have years of experience in the construction industry and currently working as a heavy machine operator. I would appreciate any ideas or info. Glad I found this site.

Hi everyone!

I'm originally from Wallaceburg, Ontario, and moved to Portugal after completing my undergrad in political science at UWO at the age of 21. In Portugal (where I've been living for 7 years) I then completed a degree in law in Coimbra, and am now working in Lisbon.

I'm now in the process of trying to organize some events for fellow canucks residing here, so if you are one give me a ring! Incidentally my sites name is Canadians in Portugal...

Hey there everyone.

Recently signed up obviously. My fiance and I are getting married next May and we're looking to spend a month or so sauntering around Europe.

Here are our MUST countries. Italy (I'm Italian) Ireland (Guinness) Denmark (She's Danish) Germany (More Beer)

Would like to visit: Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland,

If we have time: Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxumbourg, Scotland, Finland, Sweden and Norway.

Now obviously something like Ireland and Scotland would make sense to see one after another, so there's a chance that Scotland is out. Shame really. The rough plan is to fly in somewhere, (London or Frankfurt probably) and get a Rail Pass and piss about until its time to leave. I was thinking doing a loop going from country to country spending a few days in some of the cities that we want to see.

I would love to take a train ride through the Swiss Alps.

I guess the biggest thing aside from where we want to go is WHEN we are going. Are there any suggestions? Do we leave right away and spend June pissing about Europe? Or should we wait a few months and go in late September / October to save on some money. If in fact going later saves money? I don't know.

Sorry for the scatterbrained intro. Its a lot for us to digest right now. Not only planning a wedding still, but looking at a month in Europe with no real plan. Just a go with the flow type deal.
