Hi guys!
I am republican so called because I am in Citizens for a Canadian Republics UK branch.

But my real name is Ben and I am from Ottawa but spent most of time around southern Ontario (Waterloo region).
I look forward to going home ASAP as I have lived here for 13 years! My parents moved me over when I was small. I am a dual national of Canada and Britain.

I love hockey and still have a keen intrest in Canadian politics.
long live the Canadian republic
vive la republic Canadienne

Hi Everyone:

I'm a Canadian living and working in Carlow Ireland for the next four years.
Absolutely Love it here. I have found baseball in Dublin and I am on the National Irish Baseball Team.
Things are more expensive here generally but the Guinness is fresh and pubs are lively. I can't say I'm homesick yet.well maybe for a cup of Tim's.

Hi everyone,

My name is Catherine and I'm from Québec. I have been living in Edinburgh, Scotland with my Scottish boyfriend for just over a year now. I'm not really missing Canada - especially not the freezing -40 degrees winters and the melting 40 degrees summers. I love the weather here, although most people here always complain about it. I am planning to stay here at least for a few other years, as I am loving it. Don't like the neds and the drunks though.

Having grown up with 6 hockey team, and listening to Saturday night hockey "He SCORES!" in Vancouver I move to the US in the late 80's.

Still here in the states, it's the next century. I'm plotting, planning and looking at the feasability of moving myself and my American Wife & dual citizen daughter to Canada now.

I have too many questions, tons of concerns and am otherwise worried that it would be a bad decision. On the other hand, I live in Las Vegas which has the natural appeal of a parking lot beside a 7-11, education which rivals any bottom ranking 3rd world country and a crime rate which rivals Iraq.

As mentioned above, I grew up in Vancounver (things grown there), we learn in school and crime has it's own red light district.

Is moving back to Canada a bad idea? After 20 years in the USA does one become disenfrachised?
Least noticed, until Global warming makes us front page news!

You'll probably have a bit of a culture shock moving back to Canada, unless you've been back a few times.

Good luck with the move, let us know how it works out!

And welcome to canuckabroad.com :)

Hi all,

This is my 1st post on here, so I figure this is the best place to start.

I'm from PEI, and lived in Halifax for a bit while going to school, and now i'm back on PEI again. I'm taking this year off of school, but i'm planning on going back next year. If I get into the program that i've applied to, i'll be completing half the degree in England (just outside London). I really hope that I get in, so I can move across the pond. After school is done, i'm planning on staying for a few years, or as long as I can.

I've been to Europe a few times, and have visited most countries in Western Europe and the UK (there are still lots in the East that I haven't been to yet). I've been to London a couple times, and I love it there (the last time being August '05).

I'm here to get as much info before I head over, and it wouldn't hurt to have a few contacts to meet up with either.

Hi everyone, my name's Martin (As you may have guessed from my very imaginative user-name). I lived just outside Ontario until 5 years ago when I moved to England to marry my lovely wife Mel. We now live near Ludlow in Shropshire. I look forward to speaking with you all.

I'm originally from near Toronto, Brantford to be exact. Spent four years in Guelph though for University. I moved to the UK about two months ago and am on a working holiday visa living in central London. I love it! I'm still a bit homesick, but the debate already is to go home when I intended or stay longer?

Hello, my name is Crystal. I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia and have never really travelled. I have been all around NS, some of NB, and been to Toronto once. I am really interested in doing a working holiday in the UK, but am pretty much terrified as I would be doing this by myself. I know that I would love to travel around Europe, but getting the guts to do it alone is a big step. I know, I know I sort of sound like a whiner, but since I have no travel experience it seems like a really big step to take. :?
I graduated from university 2 years ago and have been working admin jobs since then, which I am quite willing to leave behind for awhile. I also need to decide as the visas are age limited, so I need to get my butt in gear before the big 3-0. :)
So, I guess I am here to look around, read what people have to say and look for any advice from others that may have taken the big step to go to Europe alone.
With all that being typed, Hello everyone! :)
