My wife and I moved to the US four years ago. Boy do I have a lot of nightmares and advice to share. Most of them are probably posted already by someone though. If I see something missing I'll post it.

Hey guys/gals. I'm currently stuck in Canada, but not for long. I have a couple friends that have traveled to Australia and Hawaii for the last year and a bit but are back now. My girlfriend and I are joining them on their next venture. We will be leaving for Europe this fall. I just decided this last weekend. I'm selling my pride and joy to fund this trip, my truck lol. Hope to see some of you over there, and this site is great.

Kraig.

Hi everyone,

I am originally from Toronto but have been living in the UK for the past several years.

I enjoy meeting new people and travelling and I have had the opportunity to travel to several cities during my stay in the UK.

I have many interests but perhaps the one which takes most of my time is Aikido. I have been studing intensely for the past 2.5 years and have also been teaching to a variety of students, including both adults and children.

Mostly I miss Canada and Canadians, and I can't wait to go home. Vancouver is in my blood, and I can't see settling anywhere else. Manchester has been fun, though.[/quote]

Hey everyone!

I live in Kingston, Ontario, I haven't really travelled much in my life. never even seen an ocean actually. lol. but I plan to do quite a bit of travelling once I've gotten myself to a stable spot in life that allows it.

Europe's the first place I'll be visiting, most likely next spring (if all goes well til then). Haven't planned definite locations to visit yet, but I've been browsing a lot and getting a good idea on things I'd like to see.

Hi Everyone

My name is Serena, andI am from Halifax, Nova Scotia originally but now live on a little island north of Darwin, Australia.

I left Canada when I was 2o years old and moved to England. I lived in Cornwall for almost all of the 10 years I was there.

I met my husband "online" in an MSN chat room called Coffeehouse, (no longer there) almost 7 years ago - and we are still going strong.

I flew to Australia to meet him in Aug 2000 and we married about 5 months later.

We've traveled and worked all over Australia. I have definitely seen more of Australia than I did of Canada, having left before I really had the money to travel. We are moving again in a couple of months, not sure where this time - perhaps over to Queensland on the East Coast.

Australia is home to me now. I love the way of life here and the people (who are very similar to Canadians in attitude). I doubt I will ever move back to Canada now, though I still have cravings for a Tim's coffee and apple fritter. and turtles.and milk duds.stop! lol I was beside myself with joy when our local grocery store suddenly had Kraft Dinner after many years of me fantasizing about it!

I've just started to have a look around this site, and it really looks great. Hope to see as few of you around the traps.

Cheers
Troppo

Hey, I guess I will join this parade.

I grew up in kitchener, ontario and moved to Ottawa to do by honours BA in English lit which I finished in 2006. I worked for awhile and then moved to New Jersey in Jan 2007 to marry my husband who was born and raised here. It has definitely been a struggle trying to adapt to my change in environment. I miss home, my family and friends, and even the ability to work! Right now I'm going through a Green Card process so I can't leave the US. I haven't been home in 6 months and am looking forward to my first trip "home".

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I miss it in a way I never thought I would. I also miss Canadians and their easy going nature.and timbits.and a double double.and smarties.and dill pickel chips.Wink

Hi everyone: My name is Esther and I have lived in California for 24+ years. Since I get back and forth to my hometown Victoria, BC quite regularly, I see my family and get my fill of Coffee Crisps and Aero bars about once a year. Oh yeah, and Purdy's chocolates. One of the things I miss the most are the fantastic community centers (or should I say centres) we have up there. The parks are great, and nature is close at hand. Nice to actually get something for your tax money up there.don't get me started on the healthcare situation. My American husband would LOVE to retire in Canada. We'll have to look into that one.

Hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! I grew up in Calgary, lived in Vancouver for 5 years, then back to Calgary for grad school. Ended up in Pittsburgh for my career at a University. National politics and attitudes are difficult to live with in the US, and I miss Canada for that. However, I enjoy a good life, excellent standard of living in America's "most livable city", a nice home, beautiful American wife, some in-laws, a dog and two cats. The academic environment provides a great shelter from Republicans!
