Investing and working in Cancun

Post Fri Sep 30, 2011 5:40 pm

I have been approached to invest in a Dive Shop in Cancun. Don't no where to begin. Contacted the Mexican Embassy in Vancouver, but haven't heard back yet. I know about the FM3, but who is the best agency to help me find info regarding investing and working. Will probably come back to Canada every 3 or 4 months for a week or two. Cheers Ron . . .

Hi Ron,

Depends on how you want to pursue this venue, the suggestions vary, are you going to be an investor (silent or active), are you going to have full/partial ownership>

Your post is too vague to provide a concrete response.

You can stay in Mexico up to 6 months as a visitor. The moment you exit and re-entry the country your status as a visitor is renewed.

Will you get in trouble if you stay for 6 months and leave and come back a couple of days later?

Do you guys recommend Cancun over dominican Republic? I have been looking to move from the United States.
