is it possible to take the bus for TN visa at border?

Post Sat Jan 28, 2012 12:50 pm

Hi,
I am looking to either take the bus or rent a car for TN visa application at the Buffalo border. But after some research I found I couldn't return a rented car from Canada in the US. Has anyone ever had this problem before? The problem with a bus is:
1) how do I return if my TN is declined?
2) what if the process takes too long and the bus is already gone after my TN is approved?
Thanks!

Unless you want a bus full of enemies, do not attempt to gete a TN "By bus".

When a bus crosses the boder, everyone is processed, and then the bus moves on. By asking for TN processing, you will -- even if successful -- either delay the bus for over 30 minutes, or be left behind.

I'm not sure what you mean by not being able to return a car. If you rented a car to go and get the TN, of course you would be bringing the car back to the point of origin, and then finding some other more permanet way of getting to your job (plane , for example).

Thanks!
So after my TN visa is approved, I will be able to reenter the US on that visa right?
