Italy to Spain...

Postby Katis » Sun Aug 10, 2003 1:47 pm

Travelling from Rome to Madrid, what do you think is the most economical way to go? I still want to experience the countries but I know it can get pricey. I've got about 6wks to get from point A to point B so there's no rush.
Thanks for the help~

p.s. I love this site, it's very forgiving........see "Canucks in France"

Hey Katis,

Yes, we're a friendly lot here at canuckabroad!

Six weeks is a looong time to go that distance. You could walk it! :)

I'd suggest the train, or maybe even the bus. You could also try using ride share programs..Lonely Planet's europe book usually has those listed. You basically hook up with someone heading that way and chip in some gas money. It's a good way to get around.

Have fun!

Hi Katie,
When are you travelling? I'll be doing Rome to Madrid Oct 25th with Contiki. Its pretty good (14days at $1499 a little more than $100/day is not bad). Its called the Meditterainian Highlights tour www.contiki.ca.
Good luck :)
