Gavin,
You can start your search here:
www.bermudajobs.com.
Normally a company interested in hiring you will fly you down, this is two-pronged; 1) to have a look for yourself and determine if you'll "fit" down here 2) to interview you.
I've know people to relocate thier lives and move here, then realize that one month later they can't stand it. On the other hand I've known ex-pats that have lived here for 20+ years. It really boils down to personal preference as the island is only 21 sq. miles (65,000 people) and tends to "close in" on you.
As your luck would have it, insurance, accounting and finance (banking) are huge businesses here. You don't need a degree, but it does make you more attractive. keeping in mind that locals have first pick of jobs here (if qualified).
Let me know if I can help out, cheers.
W.
P.S. A head-hunter (www.squiresresources.com) found me through monster.ca if you wanted to know.
P.P.S. Culture shock alert . . .
