Police depts in the US won't hire people unless they're US citizens or LPRs.

However, you can get H-1B with a criminal justice degree and work in a security company as a PI, I know a guy from Toronto who did that and last time I spoke to him his employer sponsored him for LPR status and he was waiting on the visa number.

To get into the military as a non-immigrant is less tough than it was but it's still tough, basically if you've been in the US for at least two years in a non-immigrant category and you have specialist skills they're looking for, i.e. translator/medical staff you might get in.

MC, keep your racist and ignorant comments for somewhere else. Canadian Immigrants are far better educated than American Immigrants. Canada places a far higher priority on immigrants skills and education so they may be exploited by locals once they come here.

You are accusing me of being racist in a public forum just because I happened to make a comment about some individuals who could not speak English. I didn’t mention race once since there are many white newcomers to Canada who also struggle with the English language.

No, I will give you a good example of racism. It stems from the Bob Rae era who was a former premier of the province of Ontario. Bob Rae said to the residents and business people of Ontario and rest of Canada incidentally: “White males need not apply.”

If that is not a racist statement, I don’t know what is. “White males need not apply.” For Canadian citizens unfamiliar with the history of it, there you have it.

Bob Rae not only destroyed the province of Ontario and business community with his social policies, he also catalyzed the departure of a great many white males out of Ontario.

Think long and hard before making racial accusations in a public forum because I guarantee there are much worse and explicit examples like the above.
