This seems like it could be the best option for my gf and I at the moment. We plan on going into the states and then applying for the k1 visa while we are there. She wont be working but will be living with me in America. I know she must interview for the K-1 visa in Canada but is there anything wrong with her staying in the states until the process is over?

Thanks

Yeah, the process typically takes about 8 to 9 months these days, and its only legal for a Canadian to visit the US for 6 months at a time. If they even let her in in the first place. I'm guessing if she's planning on staying for the duration she'd be severing all ties with Canada. Not a good idea.

Go have a poke around at www.visajourney.com for information on the K1 and what you can and can't do, and what to do if you want to visit the US during the process.
