Hi everyone,
Is there anyone who has experience with the US K-3 Visa?
Seems to me that it allows the Canadian member of a marriage to move in and out of the country but not become an immigrant.
If anyone has used this fairly new visa I'd appreciate a comment.
Thanks
Ron

The K3 is a multiple entry visa, but does not come with Work Authorization. With the K3, I do belive one has to Adjust of status (AOS) Lots of Info:
http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k3k4visa-outline.html
The K3 is a non-immigrant visa. Anothe option is the CR-1 (married less than 2 yrs) or the IR-1 (married for more than 2 yrs. The cr-1 does coem with Work authorization, but one does noty have to AOS.
Lots of info on these on visajourney.com even step by step filing instructions and examples of filled out forms. cheers

Must mention that until one is a USA citizen, you can't just reside outside the USA for extended amount of time. I belive the limit is 6 months. Any longer than that, one has to fil out a form. Not sure what kind. If one does stay out over that time, you start back at zero, lol. But with the K3 (or cr-1) no probs going for visits to Canada, unlike a K1 fiance visa, wher eit is a 1 time entry, and one has to AOS (or get advance parole) to depart the USA. lots of info onthe above link, and for th emost part friendly people.

I got a K3 in September of 2004. Yes, it is a "non-immigrant" visa, but if you want to *stay* in the US indefinitely, you have to apply for Adjustment of Status (that's what the initial petition I-130 is for). I applied for AOS and received my 10 year green card February last year.

The K3 process took us about a year and a half (USCIS sux) and AOS took about 9 months.

I feel compelled to respond to this topic in the need to clear up a few things.

The information that has been claimed to have been stolen from Visa Journey was either gathered from
a) Government information sources that are available to anyone and are of the public domain or

b) were the intellectual property of those members who permitted their material to be posted on VisaJourney for the general use of others and who have now chosen to allow said material to be posted on the Family Based Immigration website. For the betterment of the immigration community, these members have permitted their intellectual property to remain in use on VisaJourney.

To insinuate that this material was stolen from VJ or plagarized is disingenuous and borders on slander. I hope this clears up any issue in regards to whether or not material was "stolen" from one said and copied to another.

The Moderators on Family Based Immigration are a large cadre of people who helped make VJ the informative immigration community that it is. Due to some issues with the management of that site, they have chosen to take their knowledge and expertise to form a new immigration communtiy where accurate information and mentorship are nutured and forces that seek to destablize that vision are controlled. I invite all of you to come on over and help lend your support to this new and exciting immigration community.

I never said it was "stolen" merely copied. I have no probs with FBI. I personally have no requirement to hang out on FBI, I stick to the Canada section ON VJ. And yes some of the stuff bothers me on VJ, but most of that stuff takes place on Off Topic section, which I rarely post on,lol
