L1A-how often are they denied?

Post Tue Jul 27, 2010 1:41 pm

Let me start out by saying that I'm a type A personality big time. That makes all of this difficult as it's not me getting an L1A, it's dh. The HR manager at his company has only done ONE of these that I know of and I was told by another employee that she messed it up causing big repercussions for that family. So, now dh (a Senior Manager) has been asked to transfer to HQ in the US. I don't know that his company is using a lawyer, I think just HR manager is doing it. Is a lawyer a must to a painless Visa? If so, we'll let dh's boss know. Also, how often are these things rejected? I see the post on the main page about a rejection and it scares the you-know-what out of me! We won't be applying @ Rainbow Bridge now! Is it best to go to Toronto to the consulate first? Or just chance it with the POE? Is one POE easier to deal with than another?

Dh is a Senior Manager of a Global copany. The company is based in the US but acquired the Canadian division about 7 years ago. Dh has been management with them since the acquisiton. He has a University degree.

An immigration lawyer did my L-1A and after looking through all the paperwork submitted, I am glad this was the case (it was somewhat complicated).

If you're worried, I suggest that an immigration lawyer be used. To expedite the approval, a premium processing fee can be paid ($1000 USD I think) which gets you a decision within 15 calendar days.

It is pointless to ask for a statistical analysis for L1 approval.

Good petitions get 100% approval. Poor ones get 0% approval.

Get the point?
Type-A personalities are 23.5% more likely to be taken in the back room by POE agents.

Hi,
As a Canadian citizen do we need a Premium processing. I thought we can just get it at the port of entry on the same day.
Thanks.
