Hi,
I'm from ex-Yugoslavia (Canadian citizen), live in Toronto and I've recently legally changed my name due to family reasons, so that I took my mother's maiden name and first names that I commonly use. The name change (both first and last) is significantly different from the old ones. I am also currently a NEXUS member with the new name (both US and Cad officials have all my names on the file, and I've been cleared from possibly all things one could get cleared from). I have no criminal record of any kind, in any country whatsoever, in any way, shape or form. No offense, no misdemeanors, and certainly no arrests.
If I apply for TN-1 status in the US (and providing that all application requirements are met, and all documents are provided that clearly show the name change) can I be denied TN1 visa solely due to change of name?
I understand I won't get a legal advice on the forum, but has anyone else gone through a similar situation.
If it's best to consult a lawyer, can anyone suggest one in Toronto?
Thank you in advance.
