Hello Everyone, Thank you for reading my post.
I'm here in the UK on a Work-Sponsored Visa.
I'm thinking of going freelance and want to apply for a UK
ancestry visa.
I don't want to screw up my current situation and thought a lawyer would be best.
http://www.breytenbachs.com has been the most helpful so far.
However the UK fees for Visa are 150 GBP and takes up to 13 weeks or 400 GBP and they do it the same day.
Plus, they only accept originals documents. Imagine sending all those birth certificates and my passport in the mail!??!?!
Lawyer fees are on top of that.
So I thought, why not do this through the British Embassy in Canada, where the fee is only $180 and takes 10 days.
So my questions are:
(1) Has anyone else ever done this while already being in the UK? What was your experience?
(2) Does anyone know any good Canadian Lawyers that do this sort of thing? Or is a lawyer even necessary?
(3) Any other related advice?
Many Thanks,
