Linking International Bank Accounts

I read somewhere that it is possible to 'link' my Canadian and UK accounts so that I won't incur all those horrible fees every time I need to get money out. Does anyone know if this is true?
Some sort of easy online transfer that doesn't cost at least $15.00 a go?

I've been searching the net, but I haven't been successful and the people at my bank in Canada seem to know even less than I do!
