You can try the US Immgiration website

And the Department of State may also have some info on student visas.

I actually looked at the US Immigration website and could not find my answer, also I could not write anyone there to get the real answer.

Also, if you're out of Canada for longer than 6 months, technically you lose access to health care services.[/quote]

Like I said above: F-1. Assuming the school is approved and can do the I-20. If not you're basically screwed because she can't study without the paperwork. It doesn't have to be a "university" course, there are plenty of kids studying at high schools in the US on F-1. It just has to be a full-time course of study. If it's a vocational course, then it's M-1.

Hello dannykool

One the first page I mentioned that I was not a resident of Canada now, so the medical benefits would not apply to me anyways. I also believe that residents of Ontario are allowed to be out of the country 7 months a year(not sure of the days) most if not all other provinces only allow you to be out 6 months of the year.

Not to ofend anybody. but even for Canadians who share a similar culture with Americans (language and others) Americans are very strict with their inmigration policies and is as difficult for a Canadian to have papers than for an Europena or Latinamerican
