Living in Canada while Working for European Company

My husband has dual citizenship (Canada and the Netherlands) and has been offered a contract position in the UK. He would be able to telecommute and only have to go to the UK occassionally. I know he is able to work in the UK because he has a Dutch passport - but is there anything he has to do or should do before taking the job? We are both a little clueless on this type of thing as he has lived in Canada since he was in his early teens.
