I don't think it would be a problem, but it could cost a lot in taxes since as far as I know, he'd have to claim his Canadian income on his US tax return and vice versa.

dose he already have the proper visa to work in the US? If he does, then commuting shouldn't be a problem.

There's a tax treaty, depends on your immigration status in Canada. If it's a work permit, you can claim residency in the US and pay US tax. If you are in permanent resident status in Canada, you don't have to pay US taxes.

You are resident in BC, so you have to pay provincial tax, and that is where you get your healthcare from.

Your question doesn't mention whether you are US or Canadian citizens.

If working for a US company is done remotely from Canada without having to enter US, then you donot need a work visa.
At the end of the year, a person needs to report US income on Canadian income tax return.

However, if a person has work from US soil then work visa is required.
