Take all you out there in the capital eh. Wow! And just a day after the successful Olympic bid too.

Be safe!
No, there's no bears around the houses in Canada.

Hello, I received this email today from foreign affairs as I had registered with them last year. Here it is.

For the information of all Canadians registered throughout the United
Kingdom, the following message has been sent to Canadians registered in
London.

Dear Sir/Madam,

As you are aware there have been multiple explosions on the London
transportation system today. These incidents and resulting injuries have
been receiving major media coverage in Canada, resulting in worry for
family and friends with loved ones currently living or travelling in
London. The Canadian High Commission asks all Canadians to please make
contact with your family in Canada to confirm your well-being. IF YOU
REQUIRE EMERGENCY CONSULAR ASSISTANCE contact the High Commission of
Canada, Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London SW1Y 5BJ, England, United
Kingdom (country and area codes: 44-20/ tel.: 7258-6600/ fax: 7258-6533/
e-mail: ldn@international.gc.ca/ Web site:
www.international.gc.ca/london). After-hours emergency assistance can also be obtained by calling
Foreign Affairs Canada at 00 800 2326-6831 or by email at
sos@international.gc.ca.

Please note that the underground, bus, and some railway systems are
currently closed. Disruptions may also be expected at other public
transportation venues in and around London, including airports. It is
recommended that you call ahead before departure. There have been
difficulties reported with the cell phone network due to the high call volume.

Please monitor local media reports and follow the instructions of local
authorities. Please share this message with other Canadians you know
who are currently in London.
=============================================

À titre d'information, pour tous les Canadiens enregistrés à travers le
Royaume-Uni, veuillez noter que le message suivant a été envoyé aux

Hey Brenda,

Thanks so much for posting that, I'm watching CBC right now and was trying to write down all that same info.

I hope everyone's safe and accounted for.

I'm not surprised they'd do this after the olympic bid..Perfect timing, what with the G8 meeting going on as well.

I'm just thankful more people weren't killed! Afterall they've been saying that it's inevitable that an attack would happen in London, but the fact that all they could do was bomb a few subway stations is a far cry from something like a 9/11 where they hit thousands of people. Maybe it means increased security in other places (airports etc) is working, for those places anyhow.

Despite the number of sites attacked, and the traffic of the London underground, I'm surprised more were not injured or killed really. Any number of deaths or injuries are despicable of course, but considering the population of Londoners who travel by public transit, it could have been much worse. My prayers and thoughts go out to those affected.

I'm hoping that a friend of mine who lives there, whom I haven't heard from in a while will maybe check in here, he knows of the site, as I had listed it for him when he was getting ready to leave Canada.

I've heard from all other friends in London area, and just wait to hear from Chris and Alison! It would be nice to know that they are safe and unharmed.

To all Canucks abroad, stay safe!

For sure. I noticed now they say 700 or so wounded. It obviously could have been a LOT worse, it's amazing not more were killed. Thank goodness!

scary and surreal..... I can't believe what's happened, but at the same time, a lot of Londoners have been waiting for the second shoe to drop, annd are saying it was just time before this happened. How sad... what a world.

I feel more sorry for my family and friends. I received so many texts and phone calls from people worried out of there mind... agh. Times like this its hard to be away from home...

I'm fortunate I don't use the Underground, always though so, being able to take the train in to Richmond to work, but this hits so close to home it hurts.

CBC is looking for Canadians who witnessed it (thankfully, nobody I know did).

Extract from and email from the High Commissioner:
"Ann Macmillan of the CBC is keen to talk to Canadians who may have been affected by, or close to, the bombings today. Someone who can describe what they witnessed."
