London Vandoos Events

This thread is dedicated to the London Vandoos Canadian expat group!

CanuckAbroad user vandoo often post his groups event and such on here, so I thought we'd might as well give him his own thread where he can post his events and keep us updated on any fun activites or news his group has.

Network Canada is a professional and social group for Canadians in London with over 850 members. In addition to networking and socializing opportunities, we offer a wide range of resources to assist with the transition of moving to and from the United Kingdom. The guidebook offers straightforward advice on visas, bank accounts, estate agents, taxes, travel, relocation, and much more. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, and are themselves another incredible resource for advice. Further, we allow our members to tap into a network of professional advisors across England and Europe by hosting a variety of educational seminars.

There is a group of people (mostly ex-pats from Canada, but everybody is welcome) called the Vandoos that holds a casual get together on the 22nd of each month. There is no cost to join or attend events. Contact info and details on events can be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/london-vandoos/

There are over 400 members in the group, and typically we get between 50 and 60 out to an event. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and it is a great way to meet people.

Next Event: MONDAY, August 22 - Gordons Wine Bar

August already...maybe soon we'll have a summer! Just in case, on Monday the 22nd, we are going someplace with an outdoors option.

Come on down to Gordon's Wine Bar (http://www.gordonswinebar.com/). If the weather is fine, look on the patio. If not, the bar staff will know where we are sitting. I may not be there, but I'm sure some of the regular faces will be in attendance. If you are having trouble finding the group, call Des on her mobile (0796 127 3163). If you need a hand choosing a drink, try the Madeira - you won't regret it!

If only there was something like that in the North West too, that looks like alot of fun Vandoo & a great idea to have!

I've not seen many Canadians who live near me (town of Bury which is North of Manchester) but if there's any out there, gimme a shout!

I moved here early 2004 and I MISS MY KD! Lucky for me, mum sends the dried cheese pouches by post every couple of months. aren't mums great?
