I can't believe how many people are relocating to Germany.
I will be getting there end of May - will probably look into getting an English Teaching job with an agency.
I am always very curious to hear how everyone else's job search is going.

cheers,

nina

Hi there, I am thinking about moving as soon as i find a job starting from the end September 2008. Actually, I've starting searching info and jobs through the internet, but I think the only job I can get, if I ever will get one, is in a call center.which could also be ok as a start, but I would really like to know HOW MUCH are they going to pay me and HOW MUCH is the cost of life there.why do they never put the salary in their job announcements?
Anyway, will keep you informed if there are furhter developments! Thank you very much for all your help/info. Good luck everybody and whon knows, maybe we will meet one day in Berlin! claudia

Wow, I never knew there were so many people interested in moving to germany Shocked
Well here is another job site for you guys Job Pilot
It's a pretty good site, lots of adds and many of them in english too, covers pretty much every field.

A little warning for you klaudia, there is no minimum wage in germany, and decent apartments in germany can be quite expensive, especially if you're living in an urban area, so if I were you I would make sure that I get a decent salary before thinking of moving. Don't want to end up with a €3.00 per hour job and not being able to get a place to live.

Hi! I'm from Windsor, too, but have lived in Germany for the last 11 years. I live not to far from Frankfurt along the Rhine. I think you will like it here.

Finding a job not being able to speak German is a little hard, except in 2 fields: english teacher or IT. There is actually a shortage of qualified IT people here, so you may have good chances there. I don't know about Berlin as being the IT place to be, I think that is more in the south, in Munich and area. As for teaching english, the big companies look for native speakers, but they also want teaching experience. Even the tutoring companies won't hire you unless you have some sort of educational background.

I think it would be a really good idea to learn a bit of the language BEFORE leaving Canada. You will learn it quickly once you are here, but you will learn it faster if you have a base to build on.

Let me know if I can help you at all!

Take care,
Stephenie
