Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has any information or advice that would help me to find work in Berlin.

Currently, I'm working for an insurance company in Windsor, Ontario as an Integration Training Specialist. I also have four years of experience as an Insurance Broker. I have an Honours degree in French Language and Literature. I've just started learning German.

I'm looking for pretty much any type of work to begin with. I have telephone and computer experience, and would also be open to teaching English.

Thanks!

I will have to post more before being able to post links.

But what I can tell is that I'm also looking for a job in Berlin. I'm from Montreal and I'm currently looking in the south of Germany. I can tell you to practice your German. it will make things a lot easier.

I have a good job site. but I will post it later.

Thanks, Clapoti, I will keep working on my German and watch for your post with the link.

How is your search going? What line of work are you in? And how long have you been in Germany?

It's going. well I don't have a job yet Razz I had some interviews and I keep sending resume.

I'm a programmer.

I've been here for 6 months now. My German is progressing. but I'm not taking any courses so it's hard.

I would try the big private job agencies like
- Adecco
- Randstad
- Abacus
- Manpower

If you enter "Zeitarbeit Berlin" you will also find a list of all the small local agencies.
If you want to save time, just call them - most of them should be able to speak English.

Also I think it is worth trying the German employment office: arbeitsagentur

Oh - and - I will be moving from Germany to Windsor in August and am still looking for a job there. I have also searched the web forever but not found anything appropriate. Am a teacher (German / English) here, but have also experience as secretary. Just like you, I am willing to try new jobs, too.

Something else I could imagine for you and what an American friend of mine did when she was in Germany for a year:

Apply to private language schools that teach English i.e. in big companies. They are usually looking for native speakers. The biggst and best known ones that you find in all bigger cities are BERLITZ and INLINGUA. But there should be many others in Berlin, too.

Thanks, Clapoti and moormaid!

moormaid, I found my current job through Adecco so you could give that a try here as well.

Or perhaps check out some of the tutoring organizations in Windsor - Oxford Learning, Victory Tutorial Agency, School is Cool Tutorial Agency, Sylvan Learning Centre.
