Mail forwarding Service in Canada...?

Postby Traveller » Thu Oct 01, 2009 8:47 am

I just found out yesterday that my YMS visa has been approved (Yaaay  ). Now that I'll be away from Canada for a couple of years, I was wondering how do you deal with mail (in Canada). I'm planning not to close my bank accounts, since I'll be back in two years. I don't have any relatives or friends in Canada where I could get my mail sent to. Is there some sort of service in Canada that would forward my mail to my UK Address?

There are plenty of mail forwarding services, but they all involve you setting up a 'mailbox' first and then the company receives the mail and forwards it. So you would still need to do the canada post change of address (to the fake box) first.

If that is the case, then you might as well simply have canada post redirect the mail to you right from the start, for ~$200.

Long term, though, you should take care of change of address your self, as the Canada post service is only for a year max.

When I moved to US from canada, I did not pay for the Canada post service, and I have no regrets.

Just start making a list of those you want to notify and do it yourself.

Btw, you should simply tell your bank your new address, they have to know, and their should be no problem.
