making my BC car insurable in LA California

Post Mon Oct 20, 2008 12:07 am

I am driving a 2007 Honda Civic in Vancouver BC, and I need to work in Los Angeles.
What do changes do I need for my car in order to make it insurable in Los Angeles?

Can I use my BC driver license to get a car insurance in Los Angeles ?

I don't know whether any California insurer would ensure you with a BC license or not. However, I do know that once you accept employment in California, you have 10 days to get a California driver's license if you want to continue to legally drive. Since you can't legally maintain both a California and a BC driver's license, I don't think using your BC license will be an option for you.

No physical changes to the car, but yes, you have to get a California DL.
