Hi,
I have a job offer from a US company for the job of a recruiter (University Technical Recruiter, to be specific). Now, I know that specific job is not on the NAFTA approved professionals list. However, the job itself is a contract (1-year), and I think it's possible to spin the title/description of the job to be something like "Management Consultant in Recruiting", as I meet the requirements for a Managements Consutant TN visa (i.e. Bachelor's Degree in Business [commerce]). However, the altnernate possible category is that of Vocational Counser, because a lot of what I'd do in my job is help people identify and find their "next job", albeit internally, within the company. So, my specific questions are:
a) should the company offering the job draft a letter to fit the Management Consultant category, or Vocational Counselor category?
b) can I go to a POE (land) ahead of time to get the TN visa? The importance herein is that I have a competing job offer from a Canadian company, but my first choice is go to US. But, I don't want to stupidly reject the CAD offer, and then be denied TN visa, and be left without a job.
c) what's the cost of TN visa? I read in some posts that it's $50 and in others that it's $56
d) how to I prepare for the TN interview?
This is the first time I have to go through something like that, and even though I have friends who have done it, they're all engineers and have an easier time getting a TN visa in their employment category.
Any help is welcome! Thanks!!!!!
P.S. The company actually has an immigration consulting firm they're working with, but I get the feeling that they're very uncertain as to what to do, hence I'm inquiring here.
