Marrying an American in the US but returning to Canada

Hi,
I am a Canadian Citizen living in Canada and my Fiancee is an American currently in the States, but has permanent residency status in Canada.

We are planning to get married in her hometown and plan to return to Canada to live after our honeymoon abroad.

I was wondering if there was anything special I have to do or should be aware of when I cross the border and am questioned by the immigration officer.

Any information would be great.

Once you leave US, do not expect to be allowed back in with ease, until you both move to canada.

On your entry into US to get married, I would be carrying LOTS of proof that you will BOTH live in canada, proof of the PR status, your employement, home, etc.

If she is a Landed Immigrant in Canada with her valid card, there is no way I would have a problem with you traveling through to the USA. The card is waaay more than enough proof.

laws, I'm sure you know that here are limited Cdn residency requirements for maintaining a Cdn landed immigrant card. She could leave canada for a full 3 years without problems.

I would think proof that neither plan to live in US would be more reassuring to you, otherwise you are simply saying that having a Cdn PR card absolves any spouse from immig intent.

AG, I would be looking at the whole picture if they were in front of me. A PR card to back up the fact that they are going back to Canada is more than most people show.

This is odd, when you first came to this site you were always on me for being too strict, now it seems i'm the softy and you have gotten a little tough..........Are you sure you don't work for us?

I agree, you have become more mellow.

I never used to come to this site for mu fisrt 8 years in US , prefering to stick on more specific sites, for taxes and for TN and immigration, and building my knowlegde.

It's the hearts and flowers, everything is alright, I don't really know but this is what I think advice that was so often spewed here (by the likes of Reba, RIP) that made me tougher -- but only on this site.
