Question
Hello Christopher.
I am so confused about the regulations for getting into the usa.
We have a poultry business down in the usa but the company is a Canadian company. We go down to visit our growers ( contracted) who look after our poultry for us. Now we are assisting a small processing company to set up their production using our special bird. We do not get paid but t requires a lot of work. They would like to pay us consultancy fees. We do have 'special abilities' as we are the only people in the usa with these types of European breeders and have done this work before in the same way.We have invested about $ 250,000 in our breeders etc but not enough to meet the
$500,000 requirement. Is there any visa that would let us stay for say a year or two to get this all set up?

Hi Barbara: comments below.

We have a poultry business down in the usa but the company is a Canadian company. How long has the Canadian business been in existence and what is the corporate relationship between the Canadian and U.S. company? (For example, is it a branch office of the Canadian company?)

We go down to visit our growers ( contracted) who look after our poultry for us. For meetings only?

Now we are assisting a small processing company to set up their production using our special bird. We do not get paid but t requires a lot of work. They would like to pay us consultancy fees. Who goes down to assist? Company management? Anyone with specific technical expertise? Scientists? Degreed people?

Is there any visa that would let us stay for say a year or two to get this all set up? Maybe a TN or H-1B.

Very Happy Thank you Mr. Rizzo for replying to my questions:
The compnay has been in business 2.5 years

WE go down for meetings and to check that the growers are doing their job correctly and we offer our technical advice and check the birds.

We both ( my husband and I ) have highly skilled technical expertise with these birds and our
proprietary production system for over 15 years
This is the first time in the uSA for our
production system, we are the leading edge of the alternative market ie: outdoor natural and organic production.
Neither of us have degrees but we have our experience and knowledge.(from Europe)

Thank you. I will email privately to continue this conversation.
