My kids and I are Canadian citizens. I'm looking out for opportunities for them to go to middle schools in the US. So far my research shows that the kids will need to get I-20 from a private school in order not to get into overstay problems. But I haven't seen any specific type of visa that could support me to stay with them without overstay issue. Please help. Thanks a lot.

Would love to get an answer or solution for this also. Unless children attend a private school you won't they won't be issued an I-20. That means they won't be able to register or enrol in school. Neither will you be able to accompany them.
I'm in the same boat. My sons have been invited to complete their education and sport training in the US. The school is a public school close to a sport academy where they have been training. The school cannot provide the I-20. Unless they and I enter the USA under false pretenses and remain there illegally we can't do this. Surely there must be a way.
Does anyone have a solution? a suggestion?

F applies to the student who holds an I-20, and his/her children. It doesn't seem apply to the mother at all.

That is correct. You can only send them to (boarding) school.

I'm learning, you can apply for a B2 visitor visa, eligible for 6 months ~ 183 days. While in the US, prior to the end of the 183 days apply for an extension of your visa. You may be granted an extension of up to 240 days.
There are however no guarantees.

Be careful, typically children in B2 cannot legally enroll in public school (primary or secondary, as opposed to post-secondary school which would be covered by F status) unless that school is a few miles from the border. That is why the school is not permitted to provide I-20. It is illegal.
