Hi everybody, I'm new here and of course have a question hoping to find some answers. Having looked at the german embassy site and googled a lot I'm confused. I have a job opurtunity in Germany working for a german firm in export, also have found a house to live in etc. here comes my question? Is it better to apply for a german work visa in Germany orhere in Ottawa? I have been told that once one is in Germany it would be better then outside from the country. I just wonder if I apply here in Canada it might take a long time and seeing the my job starts in august I thought I'll ask to see what anybody knows on this subject.
Thanks as you all can see there is help needed Smile

I'm on my third Working visa and I did all 3 while in Germany. I also heard it was harder or at least longer when you are out of Germany. You will need to ask your employer to help you anyway, so maybe you can just ask him what he prefer.

i have a similar question about applying for a visa while outside of Canada. i'll soon be housesitting for a friend in Switzerland and i'm wondering if i will be able to apply for a visa to work in Germany or France [after my housesitting gig] while i am over there. is it difficult to apply for a visa while outside of Canada? any light shed on the subject would be greatly appreciated!
