Does anyone have any experience using a moving company to move their belongings from Canada to the US? The moving company is telling me they want a copy of my passport and job offer letter since I won't have my TN visa till I actually cross the border myself. I really don't think the Customs folks will even think about letting my stuff across until my TN visa is in place, am I correct?

The moving company will need photocopies of your passport and visa to bring you goods into the US. Depending on the route they are taking, you can fax it to them.

Yeap, your stuff will have to follow you a day or so later once you've got your visa.

When I moved down here I just faxed them a copy of my visa and they were on their way.
