Moving to Budapest

Hello everyone,
I am moving to Budapest next week for work (leave on Aug. 27). I will be there for 8 mos. and I've never been there. I've been to Europe earlier this year, but that was only two weeks and I didn't go to Hungary.
So, I have NO clue about what I'm getting in to. I don't know what part of the city I'll be living in, but I'm guessing it will be the northern part as that's the area where I'll be working.
Does anyone have any tips? I will have a car provided and a flat.
Let me know if any of you live there and if you like hockey. Since that's what I'm going for, I'll be coaching with the Budapest Stars hockey club.

I know this is a bit late but I just registered for the website and found your post.

Are you still in Budapest? How is it going? Have you adapted to your new life? I just moved here about 2 months ago for work and I love it.

Anyways, I would be open to get together for a beer or so if you are interested? Let me know.
