Moving to Canberra

Post Fri Oct 12, 2007 11:18 am

Hi, I am hoping to move to Canberra in January to attend ANU. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on what neighbourhoods are good to rent at, or is there residence on campus where I can live with my partner (a non-student). What is rent like? I've seen around $400/room/month but I haven't looked aroudn and I have no idea what kind of neighbourhood it's in.

I'd also love to find some Canucks who live in or around the area once I get there.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Man does that ever sound cheesy

Are you already here in Canberra? I live in Kingston and have just moved here permanently to live with my husband. I doubt rental advice would be of use now but I hope things are going well for you so far and that you didn't have too hard of a time finding a place - Canberra can be a challenge that way. Where are you from in Canada? I am from Toronto.
Cheers,
Val
