moving to Chamonix - 8 months

Hello,
If anyone has any friends or family in the Chamonix, France area I would be interested in contacting them. My family is planning to move there for the ski season, fall of next year 2004. (I tend to plan way ahead). We have three children age 18 mo, 3, & 8 and are looking for a place to rent in that area as well as a nanny(bilingual). I don't speak french yet (will be taking courses), but my husband is fluent after spending 5 ski seasons there. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate them.
