Do you go to Shanghai sometimes

Post Fri Aug 15, 2008 11:10 pm

Allo,

If you plan to visit Shanghai, let me know I might be around.

Salut Manon !

I teach in Changzhou. I have been here since Feb '08. I am originally from PEI. Last term there was a guy from Montreal here but he has recently gone home after teaching here for three years.

Thank you very much. I am enjoying myself tremendously here and we have a good chinese support at work. Communication a little difficult when I shop alone but other than that life is good here. There is an expat group that dines out once a month. Are you part of this group ?

Thank you for your response !

We are not far. I work at Maska China Power Transmission Co., a french-canadian based company that just started operations in February. We are located in the Wujin High Tech Development Zone, Wujin District too.

As for the expats dinners, I can give you the contact tomorrow as I am at home right now so to get you on the mailing list. We have a dinner once a month with all expats in the area (American, French, Canadian and some Europeans). We are approximately 50 people each month.

I do not teach but am here for operational activities in the start-up of the company.

Hope to meet you sometime !

I saw your note, and wanted to let you know about ice hockey if you play. There is a new rink in the Shanghai area, and it is west of the city, not too far from ChangZhou on a Sunday afternoon and about 50% Canadians. Send me your contact information and I will send you additional info. Our league has been in existance for 7 years or so.

Just out of curiosity, what does Maska do? How big is the factory in ChangZhou? We have some suppliers in Changzhou of machined parts, but I almost never travel there.

Thanks.
