Moving to Dhaka and would like input

Hello,

I am moving to Dhaka, Bangladesh for a year to work for the United Nations. I currently life in Ottawa Canada and would like input from anyone who is currently in Dhaka or has lived/visited. What area is the best / safe for a single woman? What kind of transportation is used to get to work? What kind of attire is accepted (I understand that it is very conservative - Muslim religion). Anything that will help me with this move is much appreciated.
