Moving to Doha, Need some info

I have been offered a two year contract living in Doha and am seeking some info on the City and Region. I was working out of Dubai for a year and know that area well but have never been to Doha. If you could provide any insights to the Quality of Housing and general day to day life I would greatly appreciate it.

I should be in Doha within the next couple of weeks and would really appreciate any help that anyone could offer.
