Moving to Dubai - Getting Non Resident Status

Hello Friends,

I am seeking advise from people who have obtained Non Residency status in Middle East.

I have an offer to move to Dubai and I am leaving next week, my family will follow in 2 months time. I have sold my house, car etc. I will discontinue my health card, driving license and most of my ties with Canada except for,
1. Life Insurance
2. Bank Account ( with say 1000 dollars in it).

I would like to know,
1. Should I file NR 73, if so when?
2. Should I file my 2009 returns before I leave and indicate that I am a NR from a particular date? If I do this, do I still have to file NR 73?
3. Is there any tax lawyers, experts who has done this for their clients?
4. I have read that if I stay out of the country for 2 yrs, I am a deemed as a Non Resident, is this true? Again, I will discontinue all my ties with Canada.

I would appreciate your help
Thanks

most importantly: DO NOT FILE AN NR-73 !

for your other questions, it's really best to speak to someone who specializes in expat tax situations. check out globaltaxnetwork .ca

they are working on my case at the moment and are really good.
