Moving to Europe this summer.

Post Thu Dec 14, 2006 12:28 am

I am planning on taking a trip to Europe in July 07 for about a month and a half. This would be my second trip to Europe (I went to Germany Austria Hungary and Czech Republic in March 2006) I have had some thoughts though about possibly just staying in a country and working there for a couple of years although I know there is much more to it than just settling in one country and working.

My initial thought was to relocate there permenantly however I would need some sort of professional training to do that and since I will be heading over there right after I graduate high school the chances of that are slim. But I have considered taking the TEFL course and gaining certification and teaching in an Eastern European country and MAYBE gaining citizenship, although that too might be unlikely since I have no relatives who are from any European country. Unfortunately my ancestry in Canada is five generations deep.

Anyways any help that can be provided is very much appriciated
Nick

Definitely get your TEFL and try teaching in Europe, like you said you might have a decent chance in the east like Hungary or Czech. Some places still require you to have a university diploma so make sure to find out before you go.

There's always under the table work. You may be able to find an internship of some sort that pays enough for you to live on (though that's good for a few months, probably not years).

Just some thoughts -
Matt
