Moving to London with a Teenager

Post Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:56 pm

Hi,
My daughter and I are moving to London in the next couple of months. She is currently in grade 12 and requires about an extra year of credits if she was to graduate here.
I have been trying to find information about registering her in school in London to complete her equivalency, but have not had a lot of luck. Clearly, I want her to be able to graduate and go on to post-secondary. Does anyone have experience with transferring while in high school?
Additionally, I want to rent in an area that will be safe for her (as she will be travelling to school and about the neighbourhood alone) and that will give her a lot to do and opportunities to have fun.
Any suggestions are much appreciated...
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea
I am moving to the UK in July with m husband and son who is currently in Grade 12.

Have you thought about registering with the school district you are leaving? The district I teach for in BC have a system where correspondence can be done online and your daughter could do this.

good luck!

Have you tried looking for an international school in the uk?? There are a few in london but maybe a bit costly to send her to one.
