Hi all!

I'm new to this forum and I am moving to the Caymans in 4 weeks (yikes!) I haven't hired a shipping company yet, I got quotes but they're all very different! I'd like to know how much others have paid to get to that part of the world from central Canada.

Also, any other tips about moving or living in the Caymans is greatly welcome!

Is there anyone else from your company who has moved from here to there? Find out the ball park figure they worked with. What are the differences in what the moving companies are offering? If one seems to be offering to do it for less, but do the same job, play that figure to the other companies.
Or just limit yourself and haul it all as your checked luggage. Make good use of that baggage restriction!

Hi Allyssa: I'm actually starting with a new employer in the Caymans, so I don't know anyone whose belognings have done this trip! I got three quotes and they're all 1k apart (2k, 3k and 4k), they all seem to be offering the same services, I don't want to get ripped off but at the same time I don't want to cheap out! Good advice about bartering with these companies, maybe that can shed some light on the differences.

I'd limit myself to my luggage but I am bringing 2 of my bikes + lots of other sports equipment (I am soooo looking forward to not doing "freezing" sports half the year!)
