Moving to the U.S.....

Post Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:45 am

My husband and I are Canadian citizens and want to move to the U.S to open a restaurant and become permanent residents. His brother and sister-in-law live where we want to go and are successful business owners and U.S. citizens. We aren't sure the best way to go about this. The TN Visa doesn't pertain to what we want to do. His brother can sponsor, but not sure if this will be any faster or not.

Has anyone gone through this process, or knows of how we can do this?

Thanks

You need to gete an investor 'E' visa, which requires a sizeable investment and plan to hire workers.

See a lawyer, but don't expect much.

Brother sponsoring you will take a decade before you are allowed to move.
