Moving to the US and buying a house there?(K-3 or something)

Post Mon Jul 25, 2011 8:10 am

I checked out some pages of a thread regarding buying real estate in the US, but it seemed like that was for people that weren't planning to actually move to the US. Anyhow, my girlfriend lives in Texas and I was just thinking about the idea of buying a house there and then applying for K-3 and all that sort to become a permanent resident in the US. We'd get married, hopefully she'd be able to sponsor me, and I'd hope to be able to find work there doing whatever common jobs. I saw on some realty site that there were some houses there around $40,000 to $60,000, which is sure a lot more affordable than the $180,000 bull they're trying to pull here in Saskatchewan. Anyhow, so if I put a decent sized down payment on a house in Texas and started up the paperwork to move to the US (or vice versa), what kind of hoops would I have to jump through?

visajourney.com is the site u need.

check out the k1 visa---fiance visa (not married yet)

or cr-1--for couples ALREADY married

k3 is pretty much dead!!!!

http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1faq.htm

take some time and read over the guides!!! this isn't a quick process 6 months for the k1, and prob a year for cr-1, but read over the link i gave on comaping them!! There is reasons why some get married and go the cr-1 route. best of luck
