Moving to US - sending my stuff over

Post Sun Aug 10, 2008 5:11 pm

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question since a lot of the questions are about visa. But I'm really stuck.!

Well, I'm in the stage of getting ready to move to the States in couple of weeks.
I have several boxes that I need to send over, mostly books (so they're heavy) because I'll be carrying my clothes when I leave. My question is. I'm just not sure what to do with it. Is there any ways to send it over without paying as much money as I paid for those books.?

Is there any delivery services, or movers, that might deliver few boxes to the States at a low cost.?

Thank you.!

The simplest way I could think of doing it would be to drive it down, but I assume you can't do that. Another way of doing it that doesn't require you to drive to California and back (or wherever you're moving to) is to take it to the post office in Buffalo and send it 4th class. This is a special low rate for printed matter, it's very cheap but very slow, but it will get there eventually. Check with USPS for rates.
Steve.
