I don't know if anyone has ever been to Casper, Wyoming, but this is where I'll be in about 3 weeks (If i ever finish all of my paperwork for the border!) . From what I'm finding on the internet, you literally can't find a doctor in Wyoming (let alone a dentist). So even if you have a health plan, you have to go to a walk in clinic which is $65 everytime just for the visit. Then wait for up to 10 hours to get in.
Is it true?
Is this really what goes on in the U.S.?

depends where you are, just the same as in Canada, there are some areas that are short on doctors. And yeah, you have to pay for every visit.

I can believe it based on what goes on in Alberta. Wyoming has a tiny population so it wouldn't surprise me if there are hardly any family doctors, I met a dentist in Idaho Falls who told me he has lots of clients from Montana who have to drive ridiculous distances to see him.
