My Finnish Heritage

My Finnish Heritage

Postby karenmarietta » Thu Apr 15, 2004 5:04 pm

Hi,

I am in Canada, and my roots are in Finland. I need some translation while I am working on my family tree.

I found a really neat WW2 propaganda poster for the Russian/Finnish Winter War. My grandfather died in that war in Pero in 1940. He was 39 and of course, I never knew him. I have gone to the Finnish Defence Forces website and found his name, rank and serial number.

Going forward, Finnish is really impossible for me to understand.

Any help would be so much appreciated.

Thanks!

Karen
