Name Change Abroad due to Divorce

I'm a Canadian citizen living in Austria (Europe). As I was recently divorced I wish to change back to my maiden name. Does anyone have any idea how this is done?

I've been through this and started the process of changing my name back when my passport was going to expire. When I applied for the new one I applied for it in my maiden name, with all the relevant paper work, and ID. Once I had the new passport, I put in for my visa to be reissued in my "new" name. Then once I had that in place (in the UK it took 6 months) I used my passport to start changing my name back on everything else (bank, at work, with the UK government, drivers licence etc).

Thanks so much for your reply! At the moment I am attempting to obtain some form of ID in my maiden name. This seems to be next to impossible here in Austria. Which ID did you submit in order to apply for your passport?
