Need help sending $ to Canada from the ME (KSA)

Does anybody know of any real alternatives to wire transfers when it comes to sending money from the Middle East to Canada? The UK institutions offer a plethora of int'l services at really competitive rates - what about Canada? I sent money from KSA and paid a little bit on the transmitting end, but the biggest rip off was the charge from my local Canadian bank which charged for just receiving the money! And apparently most Canadian banks charge for recieving int'l wire transfers.

I'm looking for an international 'middle-man company' -something like Pay Pal-which would deliver money to Canada, but not as an international transaction.

Of course, perhaps a more realistic question would be to ask if anyone knows of any banks in Canada and KSA with mutual partnerships, facilitating an economic transfer of money to regular citizens.
