NEED HELP URGENT! TN visa renewel

Today is July 2, and My TN visa expires on July 13. Is it too late to mail in a renewal application with just a little over a week to go? Would I receive my receipt in time before my Visa Expires for me to stay for the 240 extended days? Or should I make a trip to the border ASAP?

Hello, you need to file the extension before it expires and have proof of that.FedEx waybill for example. You can't leave the US if you do a mail-in as you would then be considered to have abandoned your petition. Leaving the US and re-entering is obviously much quicker if you are close to a Port of entry.What TN classification? Some are highly scrutinized.

Thank you so much for your response. I am planning on mailing in my application tomorrow, and it will probably get there on Monday or Tuesday because of the holidays/weekend. Once I receive delivery confirmation, does that mean I have 240 days of extention starting from that date?

You will have 240 days starting the day of the expiry to get an answer. Therefore you can continue to work until then. Good Luck
