Need some advice

Hello everyone, how is everyone doin? first of all i am new to this board and think it is great. I just got a question and i hope someone can help with it and i hope this is the right place to post this if it is not then i apologize in advance.i am not too familiar with the whole Visa stuff, i live in Canada(i am a Canadian)but i want to move to Arizona, Phoenix, to be exact, i just love it there. But i am not sure what visa i would go for? I was in Arizona for 6 months and just got back in Canada 2 days ago(2 days before my 6 months was up) but i really want to go back but I KNOW i cant just up and leave i do know i need some sort of visa but thats the problem im not quite sure which one should i go for ive read through visa's but i just dont understand :? . i heard of the TN Visa but is that for professionals? i only got a HS diploma.is there an other type of visa for something else that i should go for(sry if i dont make sense here).any help would be appreciated thanx a lot


P.S i dont have family in the USA either

do you have a boy/girlfriend and that's your reason for wanting to go back?

Unfortunately, if you have no degree a TN is pretty much out of the question. What sort of jobs have you had before? What are you qualified to do?

There are not many options for non-family based immigration for non-professionals. Unlike Canada, the US does not have a sort of independent skilled worker immigration process. You have to have a sponsor, (employer or family) or be independently wealthy.

thank you for your reply Reba. My friend lives in the USA and shes a teacher, would she be able to to do something? My last job was a vet assistant

Without a degree it's very hard (even with a degree it's not easy). There's only really H-2 and you don't fit into either of the H-2 categories from the sounds of it. Either that or your friend sponsors you for EB-3 unskilled worker and many years from now you might get it.

If you've got money there are investor categories.

If your "friend" is a romantic partner, you could get married and she can sponsor you for a spousal visa.

Not many options I'm afraid.
