Nevada Drivers license

Legally you cannot have two DLs, nor is it wise to do so as the IRS and the CRA consider a DL a residential tie, so if you have a DL in Canada and the US technically you could be taxed twice if they found out about it.

Nevada is really tough on issuing DLs to anyone, more so for aliens. They don't even recognise DLs issued by States that have less restrictive standards than them, so if you have a Texas DL, they expect you to take the test all over again.

They will make you go through a written and driving test (if you have never taken one in the United States). I had a major arguement with the DMV about my elegibilty for a NV license (I am on a TN), so if there are issues, let me know and I will give you the contact information for the people in Carson City to clarify things. Also the NV license will only be valid until the expiry of your I-94/Visa, luckilly it is less than $25 to renew your license here.

Can you help? I just been to DMV at Las Vegas, NV and they are telling me that I need to go through the whole written and skill tests to obtain a NV driver license even though I have my Ontario driver license for 15 years. Can I transfer the Canadian Dirver license with NV driver license?
Pleas let me know. Thanks.

Some states do not allow a straight transfer unfortunately, and you have no choice but to do the written and road tests.

As I said above, they're really tough on recognizing out-of-State licenses let alone foreign ones, so yes you've got to do the test again.
