Hi Everyone!

I arrived in Manchester 3 weeks ago, hailing from Toronto. Now living with my boyfriend in the city centre, and after spending a couple of weeks travelling, the job search has begun!

Are there any Canadians in Manchester around here?

Hi Smiley!

I will be moving to Stone, which is pretty close to Manchester, on July 19th! I am also moving in with my boyfriend! Good luck in the job search! I will be doing the same - actually, have already started, but have now backed off because I don't seem to be getting anywhere past the first interview, as they all want to meet me face to face!
Lynndyhop.

I'm not an American! I am a Canadian. I come from a "nice", thoroughly unrealistic country.

Hi!

I live in Atherton, Manchester! I moved to the area in March.

How do you like it so far?

Hey All.

Seems to be a lot of us in the same boat :). I am moving over (from Toronto) on July 15th. My wife (and dog!) to follow 3 weeks later.

Staying in Northern Quarter initially for the first couple weeks, and then trying to find a some accommodation south of city centre.

I'm enjoying it so far, though my boyfriend's been on vacation since I arrived, and we've spent our days travelling (Italy!) and hanging out.
Though I just started applying for jobs this week, so wish me luck!

Are there ever any meet-ups for Canadians in Manchester?

Good luck with your job hunting.what kind of job are you looking for?

There is another website with Meetup groups but at the moment there is only one in Leeds. There was one a few years ago but the person who was in charge of the group moved to Leeds an nobody wanted to take her place (because there is a fee to be the person in charge of the group).

Surely we should be able to sort out meetings by ourselves for free?

For example, Lunch at the downtown SLug and Lettuce on the 19th.

Job done!
